Mo More Than Hype celebrates Baltimore’s rich hip hop history, with particular attention to Baltimore Club music and the vibrant scene that emerged from Charm City. Centering the extraordinary artists who shaped that history, the documentary traces a musical culture built through experimentation, community, collaboration, and an unmistakably Baltimore sound. More than a history of a genre, Mo More Than Hype is a celebration of the people behind the music. The film considers the artists, spaces, communities, and creative networks that allowed Baltimore’s scene to flourish, preserving the stories of those who helped define a pivotal chapter in the city’s cultural history. Following the screening, Caudle will join us for a conversation about the making of the documentary, Baltimore’s hip hop legacy, and the importance of documenting cultural histories from within the communities that created them.
