Noches de Rock en Español is a dance party and cultural project created by Argentine music curator, journalist, and radio host Albina Cabrera, currently the Head of Spanish-Language and Latin American Music Programming at KEXP. Born in Seattle with the goal of bringing generations together through the music that connects us, the event has become one of the city’s few spaces fully dedicated to celebrating the diversity, history, and ongoing evolution of Latin American rock music. On the first Friday of every month, Noches de Rock en Español takes audiences on a journey through the sounds, scenes, countries, and generations of Latin America and Spain, blending foundational classics with exciting new artists who continue to push the genre forward. From indie rock and post-punk to darkwave, garage rock, punk, alternative rock, and some of the most innovative contemporary sounds emerging from Latin America today, the dance floor becomes a gathering place for both lifelong fans and new listeners alike. After a successful residency that welcomed hundreds of attendees over the past two years, Noches de Rock en Español arrives at Baba Yaga with an expanded vision—one that continues to grow through guest DJs, special performances, and future live appearances by artists from across Latin America. Since 2025, the project has also featured resident DJ Alex (@ccstencil), founder of Seattle’s beloved Clandestino Seattle party, who joins Albina each month behind the decks. Every edition also welcomes guest DJs specializing in different genres and musical movements, ensuring a unique experience every time. Because Latin American rock isn’t nostalgia—it’s alive, constantly evolving, and continues to produce some of the most exciting music being made today. Welcome to Noches de Rock en Español.
