LMU student Samuel Wasson passed away in a car accident on October 23rd, 2007. Sam was a second-year student majoring in theatre arts and a much-beloved classmate, student, and friend. In his honor, The Sam Wasson Theatre Arts Scholarship was created to support LMU undergraduate theatre students who actively participate in both acting and technical theatre (production) courses of study. Every year LMU students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends perform a concert of their favorite Beatles songs on October 23rd to celebrate the life of Sam Wasson. T-shirts are sold and the proceeds directly fund the Sam Wasson Scholarship. The Concert is on the corner of the Foley building – affectionately called “Sam’s Corner.”
