A Live Rock Show Featuring: Jason Chang grew up performing with a reggae-rock band in Northern California before moving to Bellingham in 2019. J. Chang & the Lover Boys formed in Bellingham, Washington in 2024. The group emerged after Jason connected with various musicians playing shows with a variety of bands around Bellingham and Skagit Valley. Drawing inspiration from Sublime, Dispatch, The Eagles, The Expendables, Lake Street Dive, and Jack Johnson, the band crafts a distinctive sound that blends reggae rhythms with rock stylings. This musical foundation serves as the backdrop for lyrics which explore the millennial experience through a cosmically-ironic lens on modern existence. J. For a decade now, these three friends have cultivated a diverse catalog ranging from Rock, to Funk, Jazz and more. Having known each other since second grade, Alex Golombek (guitar, vocals) and Zach Cowin (drums, mixing) have always loved jamming together to their early inspirations. Marcus Benson (bass, vocals) joined in middle school and completed Idell Drive we have today. Their eclectic sound can be credited to each musicians individual taste in music and what they bring to the table. This synergy of genres is what makes Idell Drive special.
